Gov’t passes several decisions ahead of Open Balkan session in Tirana
Skopje, 17 December 2021 (MIA) – The government at a session Friday passed several decisions and conclusions as regards the agreements and memorandums set to be signed at the coming session of the Open Balkan initiative on December 22 in Tirana. The documents regulate access to the labor market in North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia and cooperation between the customs administrations and phytosanitary institutions in the three countries. Under the changes to the law on value added tax, the legislation is aligned with the best tax tends for the point of view of taxation of crossborder turnover of services as well as implementation of the government’s program, said the government. The changes to the law on value added tax also further regulate provisions that define the location of the turnover of services, the term tax representative is introduced in order foreign entities that trade goods and services in the country to be able to pay value added tax. Also, the government passed the text of the agreement between the leaders of North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia on cooperation in veterinary, safety of food and phytosanitary policy. The government passed at the session the report on the aligned text of the agreement between the North Macedonia’s government and Albania’s Council of Ministers for mutual recognition of certificates for authorized economic operator for safety and security, said the press release.
