Gov’t passes decision declaring part of Maleshevo as protected area
Skopje, 14 December 2021 (MIA) - The government on Tuesday passed a decision declaring part of Maleshevo in the eastern part a protected area, Environment Minister Naser Nuredini has said. The latest decision increases the territory of protected areas nationwide by 13.8 percent, he added. “I thank the Economy Ministry and the Agriculture Ministry for their understanding and support to preserve nature and provide sustainable social and economic development in this region as well,” Nuredini said. The territory of the future protected area, designated protected region in category V, is 11460.89 hectares, which includes three defined zones, established to help protect nature.
