Skopje, 23 June 2025 (MIA) - The Government said Monday that in one year it has paid over Mden 9 billion in arrears and current subsidies to all categories of farmers.
"Over Mden 9 billion go directly in the pockets of farmers. Our obligation as a Government is to pay subsidies on time and indiscriminately, not like before when farmers were completely forgotten, humiliated and divided. With this, we directly help farmers and encourage growth in agricultural production, in order to prepare for next year, not like before when due to unpaid subsidies and delays we had a decline in agricultural production," reads the press release.
According to the Government, Macedonia is transforming, and agriculture is one of the most important pillars for the country's economic progress and development.
"The Government's one year in office means responsible and dedicated work in the interest of farmers. We value the work of Macedonian farmers. Agriculture is one of the most important pillars for Macedonia's economic progress and development. We have made a commitment to farmers and are building the foundations of change. Macedonia's time is coming," the press release adds.
