Skopje, 26 December 2023 (MIA) - Price caps on basic food items, still water, carbonated and non-carbonated drinks and beer remain in place until January 31, the Government decided on Tuesday. 

The decision was made at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, and in the interest of the citizens due to the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, the Government said in a press release. 

"In line with today's government decision, adopted at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, the price cap on several products in retail trade, which was due to expire by December 31, is extended until January 31. Products include white rice, wheat flour - type 400 and 500, white and semi-white bread and certain bakery products, certain types of biscuits, wafers, pasta, meat and meat products, yogurt and dairy products and fresh chicken eggs," reads the press release.
