Gov’t establishes working group to assess offers for high-speed rail financing 

Skopje, 16 July 2025 (MIA) - At a closed session Tuesday, the Government assessed a report regarding the proposals submitted by international financial institutions and commercial banks for the financing of a high-speed railway in the country and decided to establish an intersectoral working group within the Government to assess the offers, said the Ministry of Finance in a press release Wednesday.

The Ministry of Finance said it has received offers from 16 international financial institutions and commercial banks - “World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank, the Italian Development Bank, Japan’s MUFG Bank, Standard Chartered, Bank of America, Erste Group Bank, Société Générale, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, Citibank, UniCredit, Cargill, NLB Group, and Raiffeisen Bank”.

The Ministry said the documentation delivered by the international financial institutions and commercial banks is confidential.
