Skopje, 13 June 2023 (MIA) - The Government at its session on Tuesday endorsed the draft bill on ratification of the agreement between North Macedonia and Albania on international water transport in Lake Ohrid. 

The expected impact of the ratification of the agreement, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as proposer, are positive, because the friendly relations between the two countries will develop based on the principle of free navigation in the area of ​​internal water traffic through Lake Ohrid, the Government said in a press release. 

The agreement was signed in Skopje on November 14, 2022, with the aim of full implementation of the strategic project “Ohrid-lake-Bridging Two countries toward One destination” under the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme North Macedonia – Albania.
