Skopje, 11 August 2024 (MIA) - The Government at its 111th session on Sunday dismissed Afrona Verzivoli, who was previously appointed as acting chief auditor of IPA funds. Verzivoli's dismissal comes after reports that she does not hold an auditor's license and that the EU will review her appointment. 

In her place, the Government appointed Arben Ramadani, who is an independent auditor in the department for the advancement of auditing. According to the Government's press release, Ramadani directly participates in the preparation of strategic documents, short-term and long-term strategic plans in relation to the development of the auditing body and the audit, and monitors their application and implementation. He has also worked as a senior auditor at the audit department in the IPA area.

The Government appointed Ivan Ignjatov as deputy chief auditor of IPA funds.
