Skopje, 8 July 2025 (MIA) - The Government declared on Tuesday a 30-day state of emergency as fires spread across the country.
Government Spokesperson Marija Miteva told a press conference Tuesday that the decision was made based on today's session of the Steering Committee for Coordination and Management of the Crisis System.
"This enables an integrated approach and coordinated action on the ground of all competent institutions - the Army, the police, all firefighting units, the Crisis Management Centre (CMC) and the Protection and Rescue Directorate, as well as local self-governments. All resources, including human, technical, and logistical, will be mobilized in order to help tackle the blazes and protect the population," said Miteva.

The Government, she noted, will provide assistance to all affected areas in order to prevent greater consequences.
She called on citizens to exercise maximum caution and observe all recommendations and bans in place.
