Skopje, 25 August 2022 (MIA) — The government has declared a state of crisis in heating energy in Skopje and in electricity nationwide, according to an official press release.
The government declared a crisis in Skopje due to insufficient heating energy, the possibility of using alternative fuel and the situation in the heating energy market, the release says.
Insufficient electricity nationwide and the situation in the electrical energy markets were the reasons behind the second decision, the release adds.
Both decisions were made at the proposal of the Crisis Management System’s Steering Committee. They will come into force on Sept. 1, 2022, and remain in force for 30 days.
“From the day these decisions come into force, the Commission for Monitoring the Situation in Electricity Supply and for Monitoring the Situation in Heating Energy Supply will continuously monitor, analyze and assess electricity and heating energy markets and propose measures in accordance with the legal regulations of the criteria and conditions for declaring a state of crisis,” the government’s press release says. mr/
