Skopje, 16 May 2023 (MIA) - The Government at its session on Tuesday decided on the use of "NMK" stickers instead of new license plates, to protect citizens from financial costs and issuance of new documentation. 

By placing a sticker on the license plates, in line with a document from the Ministry of Interior, the obligation to mark the new code of the Republic of North Macedonia on vehicle license plates is fully respected, and on the other hand, financial costs for this solution are almost incomparable with the amount required for replacement with new license plates.

Stickers are required for vehicles that have license plates with the "MK" code, which will help to avoid additional financial costs, as well as issuance of additional new documents/licenses/certificates, related to the number of the license plates.

Placing "NMK" stickers on the license plates, according to the Ministry of Interior, will also be of help for transporters traveling in the European Union. In this way, they can keep the existing plates on the transport vehicles, which will protect them from the need for changes in the overall documentation in the EU member states.
