Gov’t: Actively working on finding a solution for FCSE

Skopje, 21 March 2024 (MIA) - The government said Thursday that efforts are currently underway to find a temporary solution aimed at providing adequate premises for organizing classes at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) as well as to implement a permanent solution. The Ministry of Education and Science is in continuous communication with the faculty's management to address these objectives.

“The government has shown a strong commitment to find solutions to any challenges through dialogue with all stakeholders, thus addressing this issue. The short-term solution will be defined at a meeting between representatives of the General Affairs Service of the government, in cooperation with the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) at the Skopje-based Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, in accordance with a government decision,” the government said in a press release.

The government has reviewed the information regarding securing premises for the needs of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) and has already assigned the government's General Affairs Service, in cooperation with the FCSE, to explore alternative solutions within a specific timeframe of three months, prior to implementing the permanent solution.

“The government said that it is committed to provide dignified conditions for the education of students at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) in the envisaged new modern building, which commenced construction in 2015. It is actively working to overcome the issue arising from the bankruptcy of the construction company. Reports from the project audit and assessment of the activities executed under the contract, which fall under the jurisdiction of relevant authorities, are eagerly awaited. Following this, immediate steps will be taken to select a new contractor, which will efficiently and thoroughly construct the Faculty's new building,” reads the press release.
