Government issues heatwave recommendations for employers

Skopje, 22 July 2025 (MIA) - The Government issued Tuesday recommendations that are valid through July 26, relating to exemption from work of pregnant women and persons over 60 years of age.
The measure also includes the option of work from home and flexible working hours where possible, the Government said in a pess release.
In addition, the Government refers to the measures from the Action Plan, which advises citizens to stay in air-conditioned facilities, especially during the period between 11 am to 5 pm, hydrate, avoid alcohol and sweetened beverages, wear light clothes and use head and eye protection, avoid physical activities in the hottest period of the day, take care of children, elderly, chronically ill persons and pregnant women, ensure microclimate working conditions in accordance with the Action Plan, namely office temperatures of up to 25°C. In case of symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea, they should urgently seek medical help.
