Skopje, 20 July 2026 (MIA) - The Government decided Monday to cut the oil derivatives excise tax, says Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska.

Minister Dimitrieska Kochoska says the Government continues with its proactive approach in managing the impact of the Middle East crisis.

"We are monitoring the situation very closely and respond in a timely fashion towards protecting the economy and the people's standard of life," Dimitrieska Kochoska wrote in a Facebook post.

She adds the excise intervention will lead to stabilization of oil prices and subsequently to maintaining the stability of other prices.

"This responsible approach will be employed in the coming period as well. We will monitor developments and implement timely, specific and real measures in support of the economy and the citizens, towards protecting the standard of life and the country's economy, which has seen accelerated growth since the Government took office," says Dimitrieska Kochoska.
