Skopje, 22 July 2026 (MIA) - The average monthly net wage in May was Mden 49,544 (EUR 805), up by 8.2 percent compared to the same month in 2025, the State Statistical Office said on Wednesday. 

This increase is caused by the increase of the average monthly net wage paid per employee in the sectors: Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities by 11.9%, Arts, entertainment and recreation by 11.3% and Transportation and storage by 10.9%. 

Increase in the average monthly net wage paid per employee compared to the previous month was recorded in the sectors: Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 6.3%, Mining and quarrying by 5.8% and Transportation and storage by 5.7%. 

The average monthly gross wage in May 2026 was Mden 74,482.
