Skopje, 11 March 2025 (MIA) - At a session Tuesday, the Government adopted draft amendments to the Law on Media, which, it said, are expected to boost the competitiveness of the media space and include online media in the legislation.

“Since recent studies have shown that over 70 percent of the public gets its information online, making online media an important stakeholder in the media space, the need emerged to include them in the Law on Media, which will also lead to a more intensive encouragement of self-regulation as an important segment of professional journalism and greater competitiveness in media space,” the Government said in a press release after its 57th session.

The draft amendments will be forwarded for discussion in Parliament.
