Gjorgjievski: Skopje to be first paper-free city in country, utility tax exemption for young couples building a house

Skopje, 13 October 2025 (MIA) - Digitalization of Skopje and its transformation into the first paper-free city in the country, said VMRO-DPMNE's Skopje mayor candidate Orce Gjorgjievski on Monday.

"By implementing more than a dozen projects in the field, Skopje will become the first paper-free city in the country - digital, modern and transparent. Digital transformation will be carried out in three key segments - full internal digitalization of all processes and procedures, creation of digital services for the citizens and the business community, and full digitalization of the City Council and public enterprises - marking the biggest administrative reform to date," Gjorgjievski told a press conference.

According to him, the Digital Twin project includes the creation of the city's digital replica, integrating spatial data, sensors and documents, thus ensuring intelligent urban planning, more efficient management of infrastructure, climate resilience and swift disaster response.

Regarding the youth pillar, Gjorgjievski said his plan is to build a city that offers opportunities, room and support for young people to develop and create in Skopje.

"Young married couples up to the age of 40 and not owning any property will get a 60-percent utility tax exemption when building a house", said Gjorgjievski.

Other measures include youth career centers, campaigns on learning crafts, specialized nightlife Disco Zone away from downtown Skopje, housing zones for young couples and returnees from abroad etc.
