Gjorgjievski in Gjorche Petrov announces capital infrastructure projects to improve traffic and quality of life

Skopje, 5 October 2025 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate for Skopje mayor Orce Gjorgjievski in Gjorche Petrov on Sunday announced that infrastructural interventions will kick off right after the October 19 elections.
The initial project will involve the construction of a modern roundabout between Gjorche Petrov street and Makedonska vojska boulevard, which, will bring more safety, less congestion and better mobility to the entire western entrance to the city, according to him.
In his vision for Skopje, which features a concept of zero traffic accidents, the redesign of 50 critical intersections and streets is planned.
“We plan to redesign 50 critical intersections and streets according to European standards by 2030 to create a city in which all traffic participants will move without fear and will feel safe, above all,” said Gjorgievski.
He also announced other important infrastructure projects, such as the "designed connection of Luka Gerov Street with the Economy Road, which, according to him, will relieve traffic, ensure safe passage over the railway and connect the Dame Gruev and Stopanski Dvor neighborhoods into one functional whole.
He said that Volkovo will get a street according to European standards with safe sidewalks and modern infrastructure worthy of all our citizens.
“The design of the Vele Markov street is also underway, which will connect to the Macedonian Army Boulevard and will be a real communication link that will relieve local congestion. In addition, the Sharplaninska street will be built with modern infrastructure, drainage, lighting and greenery, to enable a direct connection of the Dame Gruev settlement with the main traffic corridors,” emphasized Gjorgjievski.
He announced the construction of a new and modern facility for the Kocho Racin high school and a solution to the problems with water supply.
-Gjorche Petrov will get a new reservoir and pumping station on Orizarski Rid, which will provide a stable and reliable water supply that will serve the generations that come after us,” said Gjorgjievski.
