General Staff: Army members providing visible contribution to NATO activities in Romania and Bulgaria

Skopje, 27 February 2024 (MIA) – Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurchinovski, participated Tuesday in a military ceremony in Caracal, Romania, during which members of the Macedonian Army were awarded recognitions for their commitment and professionalism within the frameworks of the “enhanced Vigilance Activities”, said the General Staff of the Army in a press release.
At the ceremony, Gjurchinovski accompanied the Romanian Chief of Defense Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad, and the Commander of NATO’s Multinational Brigade South-East, Brigadier General Constantin Nicolaescu.
General Nicolaescu awarded medals to several members of the Army, who, as part of the brigade are participating in NATO’s activities in Romania, while General Gjurchinovski awarded plaques to four members of the Army and two members of the Romanian Armed Forces.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, the generals attended a briefing by the Commander of the Multinational Brigade, where they were informed about the composition, activities and tasks of the army members in the structure.
With his Romanian counterpart, General Gjurchinovski spoke about further enhancement of bilateral relations between the armies, as well as the activities stemming from the “enhanced Vigilance Activities”.
According to the General Staff, on Monday General Gjurchinovski also visited the members of the Army of North Macedonia who are participating in NATO’s Multinational Battlegroup in Novo Selo in the Republic of Bulgaria, where he recognized their commitments and contributions.
In Bulgaria, Gjurchinovski met with the Commander of the Multinational Battlegroup, Colonel Mariano Rocco Scandurra, during which they discussed the country’s contribution and future planned activities.
