Skopje, 11 November 2022 (MIA) – Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Vasko Gjurchinovski paid a visit Friday to the highest military-defense institution of the Italian armed forces – Italian Defense Higher Studies Institute (IASD), delivering a lecture before students. On Thursday, General Gjurchinovski met with Italian counterpart, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, discussing ongoing bilateral military cooperation and possibilities for its enlargement, the Army General Staff said in a press release. Interlocutors highlighted the enhancement of cooperation through joint participation in NATO-led activities, initiatives aimed to improve regional security, as well as joint training and use of Krivolak army field for this purpose. Since 1997, military cooperation with Italy has included numerous army activities and support in military education and training, expert talks and mentoring in specific areas, but also joint participation in NATO and UN-led operations, reads the press release.
