Skopje, 26 September 2025 (MIA) – The Chief of Army General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, will take part in an annual conference of the NATO Military Committee, at the Chiefs of Defence level, on Friday and Saturday in Riga, Latvia.

The Chair of the Military Committee (CMC), Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, will preside the meeting, attended as well by the Supreme Allied Commander for Europe (SACEUR), General Alexus G. Grynkewich, and the Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation (SACT), Admiral Pierre Vandier, the Army General Staff said.

Participants in the conference will discuss current security challenges, operations, missions and interoperability of NATO forces.

The Military Committee meets in Chiefs of Defence Session (MC/CS) twice a year (January and May) at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. Additionally, once a year, one of the Allies hosts a special Conference, once again gathering all the 32 Chiefs. The NATO Military Committee is considered as a crucial link between the decision-making process and the integrated military structure of the Alliance.
