GDP up three percent in Q3: statistics
Skopje, 7 December 2021 (MIA) – The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2021 increased by three percent.
In this quarter, the biggest increase was recorded in sections: G, H and I - Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; Transportation and storage; Accommodation and food service activities by 11.0%; M and N - Professional, scientific and technical activities; Administrative and support service activities, as well as R, S and T - Arts, entertainment and recreation; Other service activities; Activities of households as employers; undifferentiated goods- and services-producing activities of households for own use by 2.6%.
Household final consumption, including Non-profit institutions serving households, increased by 4.8% in nominal terms, and its share in the GDP structure was 64.8%.
In the same period, Export of goods and services increased by 16.0% in nominal terms, while Import of goods and services increased by 15.2%.
The GDP rose by 13.1 percent in the second quarter and contracted 1.9 percent in Q1.
