Skopje, 21 July 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Monday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, Parliament said in a press release. It said the meeting was “a continuation of the friendly dialogue between the two countries, with a focus on promoting institutional and overall bilateral cooperation.” 

“Speaker Gashi reaffirmed North Macedonia’s interest in abolishing visas with Morocco, as a step that would facilitate communication, economic exchange and tourism. He especially highlighted opportunities for cooperation in the economy, agriculture, tourism, energy, education, and youth exchange. Minister Bourita highlighted the readiness of the Kingdom of Morocco to promote relations, with a special focus on economic cooperation, tourism and parliamentary diplomacy,” Parliament said.

The meeting underscored a commitment to establish a parliamentary cooperation group between North Macedonia and North African countries, “as a permanent parliamentary platform for dialogue and joint initiatives”.

“Interlocutors assessed the meeting as a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral relations and launching a new chapter in the friendship between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Kingdom of Morocco,” Parliament said in the press release.
