Kavadarci, 8 October 2025 (MIA) - Pancho Minov, a former mayor of Kavadarci and MP, and heading a list of independent candidates for the October 19 local elections, has passed away at the age of 67.

The Kavadarci municipal election commission told MIA on Wednesday they got the information of Minov's passing this morning and are set to notify the State Election Commission (SEC) of the development.

"There is a procedure set down in the law in case of death of a candidate. I believe that the ballots have still not been printed. We'll proceed as the SEC tells us, because this is the first time we face such a situation," said Kavadarci election commission chairperson Emilija Petrovska.
