Forensic report on Tetovo hospital fire completed
Skopje, 1 October 2021 (MIA) – The report from MoI’s Forensic Department on the Tetovo modular hospital fire has arrived at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Tetovo on Friday.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the report will be reviewed and analyzed by the prosecutors, while reports and data for which the prosecution has issued orders are also expected to arrive.
“Activities undertaken by five prosecutors over determining the causes of the fire are ongoing. At the moment, members of the commissions for implementation, monitoring and technical reception of the modular containers are being quizzed, which were established by a decision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy,” said the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The report on the causes of the fire that broke out on September 8 in the modular covid hospital in Tetovo, in which 14 people were killed, will also affect Prime Minister Zoran Zaev’s decision on the resignations offered by7 Health Minister Venko Filipche, Deputy Health Minister Ilir Hasani and the two heads of the Tetovo-based hospital.
PM Zaev on Friday expressed expectation that the forensic reports and analyzes on the modular hospital fire in Tetovo are nearly completed and will be published as soon as possible.
“The sooner, the better, so we can solve all dilemmas. Life continues, politicians are running a campaign, everyday activities are taking place. It’s time for the report to be published, so that I can also say my position on the resignations offered by the Health Minister, the Deputy Health Minister….” Zaev told reporters on Friday.
In addition to investigators from the country, the investigation over the Tetovo hospital fire also included German experts.
