Skopje, 1 August 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski welcomed Friday the decision by the United States to cut tariffs on Macedonian products from 33 to 15 percent.
In a social media post, Mucunski said the decision represents “an important encouragement for the enhancement of economic cooperation between the two countries and a clear signal for the creation of a more ambitious trade partnership”.
The Minister welcomed the decision as “concrete proof of the joint commitment to create new opportunities for our exporters, businesses, and the economy as a whole”, while noting that negotiations on a comprehensive tariff liberalization agreement are still ongoing.
“We remain fully committed to finalizing an agreement that will remove the remaining trade barriers and create long-term benefits for both economies. I am convinced that this lays the foundations for a new chapter in Macedonian-American economic relations,” Mucunski said.
