FM Osmani urges opposition to not put country’s Euro-integration in partisan interests
Ohrid, 17 June 2022 (MI) - The opposition should not attempt to put the issue of our Euro-integration in their rally agenda, said Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani over reports coming from VMRO-DPMNE regarding the alleged content of the conclusions of the French Presidency on North Macedonia’s Euro-integration process. “I believe the opposition is trying to create an atmosphere ahead of their protest and get more people to attend. Their positions and sources have thus far not proved to be credible. I can say that a process of consultations has begun among member-states on producing an aligned position in the process moving forward, a position that will come to us so that we analyse it and provide our remarks. This is the process. First, the French Presidency gives proposals that is distributes to all member-states. Each member can provide remarks, including Bulgaria. We are all aware of the current atmosphere in Sofia. Therefore, I would not go into commenting various proposals because I think it is important to first hear the positions of all member-states and then provide our stance,” FM Osmani told the final press conference at the Prespa Forum Dialogue in Ohrid on Friday, He labeled the opposition’s attempt to put this important process that is currently in a sensitive stage into partisan interests as poor judgment. “What the opposition can do is to address, communicate, offer support. We will share all information we have with them, because we believe this issue exceeds the realm of political parties and the government, it concerns all citizens, it concerns the country, They have my phone number, I will share all the information I have,” noted Osmani.
