FM Osmani takes part in OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm
Skopje, 2 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani addressed on Thursday the plenary session of the OSCE Ministerial Council, stressing the need for joint management of challenges within OSCE and beyond, including transnational terrorism, risks of arms trade, mass migration and humanitarian crises.
OSCE, Osmani underlined, can make a positive contribution, which will require greater political will and support from member states.
“As the holder of the 2023 OSCE Chairmanship, North Macedonia will work on promoting the core values and principles of the organization, starting next month as part of the OSCE Troika alongside Poland and Sweden,” Osmani noted, his office said in a press release.
During his address, the Minister pointed out that North Macedonia sets an example of functional multi-ethnic democracy, that respects OSCE values and responsibilities, as well as the importance of the region’s European perspective, as a crucial factor for its security and stability.
At the sidelines of Thursday’s event, Osmani met with colleagues from Finland, Poland, Romania, Malta, Austria, France, as well as with OSCE’s Media Freedom Representative.
