Skopje, 13 June 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said late Monday there is no formal agreement with Bulgaria yet, be it written or oral.
“There are solutions for all problems and we are discussing them. However, some solutions have still not been confirmed and therefore we currently have no agreement with Bulgaria, written or oral. Nevertheless, I believe there is still hope and political climate for this to happen, we have worked a lot on this and are heading in the right direction. All political factors in the country are on the same page. We had discussions with the Bulgarian side yesterday leading up to the early morning, and the PM and President have been briefed on the talks,” FM Osmani told TV21.
On the coming Prespa Forum for Dialogue, he said this year’s special recognition would go to the Ukrainian people for their sacrifice and fight against the Russian invasion.
Regarding the Open Balkan initiative, the FM said everyone would benefit from it in the mid- and long-term.
“Many analyses have been made on what we could gain in each stage of the initiative’s implementation, the latest coming from the Ljubljana University, which has concluded that everyone will benefit from it in the mid- and long-term. Maybe the larger states will gain momentum at the beginning but everyone will reap the benefit in the long run. In fact, is there a loss from economic growth?” noted Osmani.
