FM Osmani, MP Rexhepi call on political consolidation of country’s progressive forces
Skopje, 19 November 2021 (MIA) – MP Rexhepi made a smart political decision to preserve the country’s Euro-Atlantic course and not allow the integration process to be jeopardized, at a crucial time for making decisions. I gladly agreed to issue a joint call for political consolidation of all the progressive forces in the country, with the aim of making use of opportunities provided by EU’s winter summits to achieve the country’s strategic goals, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani posted on Facebook. The FM held a meeting Friday with MP Kastriot Rexhepi during which he briefed him on the EU integration process and latest foreign policy developments. “Aside from current affairs, I also informed him of the results of my latest visit to Brussels, as well as messages from Dutch PM Mark Rutte and Austrian FM Michael Linhart. The enhanced political activity of our international friends, aimed at establishing a new initiative for unblocking EU enlargement, is obvious,” read Osmani’s Facebook post. Kastriot Rexhepi, the Besa MP who was a no-show at last week’s session for no-confidence vote against the government, said on Monday  that he made the decision to not appear in Parliament in the interest of the country’s European integration. He also confirmed that Besa is still in the government. On Friday, Prime Minister and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev will meet with Alternativa leader Afrim Gashi for talks on the prospect of Alternativa MPs to join the parliamentary majority and the government.
