FM Osmani meets Serbian colleague Selakovic
Skopje, 10 November 2021 (MIA) – Current political developments in North Macedonia and Serbia and the coming important EU decisions for the Western Balkans that can affect the region’s stability and perspectives, but also the Union’s credibility, were in the focus of discussions of Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Serbian counterpart Nikola Selakovic on Wednesday.
“A nice occasion to host my Serbian counterpart Nikola Selakovic and discuss economic and regional cooperation, as well as the countries’ EU integration process. As close neighboring countries, it often happens that out paths cross, providing an opportunity to meet and discuss pending challenges,” FM Osmani says in a Facebook post.
On economic cooperation, Osmani and Selakovic said Serbia remains North Macedonia’s third-largest trading partner, with exchange increasing by 24 percent in the first nine months compared to the same period in 2020.
“We expressed our commitment to peace, stability and well-being, while agreeing that concrete cooperation is a proven way to overcome misunderstandings,” says Osmani.
