FM Osmani meets MEP Reuten for talks on country’s EU integration process
Skopje, 2 November 2021 (MIA) – Current developments in the context of North Macedonia’s EU integration process, the prospect of the accession negotiations being opened and the latest developments in national politics were discussed by Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Dutch MEP Thijs Reuten, who is also member of the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee.
The European Parliament, Osmani said, has been extending principled support regarding North Macedonia’s European perspective and I expect the support to continue in the future.
In addition to current political developments in the country, the interlocutors also discussed the bilateral communication with Bulgaria as part of efforts made to lift the blockade to the negotiating framework, regional dynamic and good neighborly ties, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
“Reaffirming the support, MEP Reuten welcomed the government’s reform results, which was noted in the European Commission report, as well as the country’s active contribution to improving regional cooperation and good neighborly relations,” said the press release.
