FM Osmani holds farewell meeting with Swedish Ambassador Bengtsson
Skopje, 24 August 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani held Wednesday a farewell meeting with Swedish Ambassador Kristin Forsgren Bengtsson.  Osmani thanked Bengtsson for her continued engagement in intensifying bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.   FM Osmani highlighted the importance of the Swedish development support for the reform processes in North Macedonia, particularly in the rule of law, democratization of society, development of market economy, as well as environmental protection and mitigating the negative effects of climate change, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.   In addition, reads the press release, Osmani thanked for the principled and consistent Swedish support for swift and meritorious progress in North Macedonia’s accession process towards full-fledged membership in the Union, particularly considering the upcoming Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2023.   Minister Osmani noted that North Macedonia has deposited in the U.S. State Department the instruments for the ratification of the protocols for Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership, with the expectation that the process will be fully completed and the two countries will join the Alliance as full-fledged members as soon as possible, adds the press release.
