Skopje, 13 March 2024 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani held a meeting Wednesday with the Swedish Ambassador to North Macedonia, Ami Larsson Jain, during which they exchanged letters by the foreign ministries of the two countries concerning Sweden’s NATO accession.
Osmani extended his congratulations over Sweden’s membership in the NATO Alliance, stressing that the step would enhance the European and overall transatlantic stability.
“Sweden’s accession to NATO as its 32nd member state is a historic moment that will make the Alliance safer and boost our collective security. At the same time, it is an affirmation of the unity of all member states, which is especially important at this time when we are facing the Russian military aggression in Ukraine and its consequences on the stability of the European continent,” stressed Osmani.
Views over North Macedonia’s Euro-integration process were also exchanged at the meeting, with the Ambassador reaffirming Sweden’s firm support for North Macedonia’s EU membership.
