Skopje, 23 July 2025 (MIA) - As part of a working visit to Athens, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski is set to meet with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis on Wednesday.

Talks will focus on future activities towards strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries, with an emphasis on economic and energy cooperation, as well as infrastructure connectivity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Interlocutors will also tackle European integration of the region, as well as current geopolitical developments, guided by common interest in strengthening regional stability and prosperity of the two countries as immediate neighbours and NATO allies.

Greek dipomatic sources told MIA that the meeting is very important, noting that Gerapetritis and Mucunski have developed "exceptionally functional relations" and are in regular communication, in efforts to limit potential tensions following the local elections.

They add that Skopje is a key ally and an important neighbor for Athens, noting that Greece has demonstrated its support in practice, through the wildfire assistance and after the Kochani tragedy, while committing to further backing in the future.
