FM Mucunski takes part in Bled Strategic Forum, meets regional counterparts

Skopje, 3 September 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski at the Bled Strategic Forum's panel "Europe Whole and Free: A Renewed Commitment to European Security" highlighted the importance of EU enlargement as the Union's most successful foreign policy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
Mucunski said the new Macedonian government was committed to acting like a credible European partner and to implementing reform processes that would bring the country's standards closer to those of EU member states.
On the sidelines of the forum, Mucunski held a meeting with Slovenia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon.
They exchanged opinions on the current regional situation, expressing their satisfaction with the excellent bilateral ties and successful cooperation, as shown mutual aid and solidarity, the release says.
"Mucunski thanked Slovenia for its strong support in the European integration process so far, and Minister Fajon confirmed that Slovenia will continue to remain our friend and supporter on our European integration path," the release adds.
At the invitation of Minister Fajon, Mucunski attended a working breakfast dedicated to SFRY succession. Ministers from the other successor countries also participated in the breakfast, confirming their determination to continue the succession process and holding regular meetings at the ministerial and operational levels.
Mucunski also participated in a working meeting with the ministers of foreign affairs and the special representatives for the Western Balkans. They discussed the current situation in the region and regional European perspectives and progress in EU integration processes. All ministers agreed that the EU's enlargement with the countries of the Western Balkans would contribute to the stability and prosperity of the region. mr/
