FM Mucunski meets with Hungary’s Szijjártó in Budapest

Skopje, 24 March 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski paid a working visit to Budapest on Monday where he had a bilateral meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó and addressed members of the Hungarian Diplomatic Council, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. 

“At the meeting with Minister Szijjártó, Minister Mucunski expressed sincere gratitude for the assistance and the decision to accept Macedonian patients injured in the accident in Kochani, stressing that this concrete aid is a part of the enhanced friendship and cooperation between the two countries, built intensively over the past nine months,” the Ministry said. 

Mucunski and Szijjártó also discussed the promotion of economic cooperation, with an emphasis on investments, energy and trade, as well as "the current regional dynamics, stability, security challenges and the continued assistance provided by Hungary for the Macedonian Euro-integrations". 

FM Mucunski also visited the hospital in Budapest where six people injured in the fire at the nightclub in Kochani are being treated. According to the Ministry, Mucunski met with the families of the injured and the medical staff, who he thanked for the care, professionalism and humanness provided during the treatment.
