Skopje, 27 February 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski held Thursday a meeting with Dutch Ambassador Özlem Canel to reaffirm the government’s commitment to pursuing European path.

“In the meeting, we stressed the importance of the two countries developing relationship and cooperation, based on deep friendship and shared values. I thanked her for the principled and vocal Dutch support for our EU integration path all the while reaffirming the government’s commitment to pursuing the European path by implementing an active reform agenda domestically and by acting responsibly internationally,” Mickoski wrote in a Facebook post.

Being NATO allies, he added, we welcomed the excellent cooperation of the two countries on all key topics included in the Alliance’s agenda.  

“We confirmed our readiness for further close coordination and cooperation ahead of the coming NATO summit, due in June 2025 in the Hague, the Netherlands. We also discussed current international and regional issues as well as cooperation and challenges as part of multilateral formats in order to preserve security and peace,” the Minister said after meeting with the Dutch diplomat in his office.
