FM Mucunski meets US Deputy Assistant Secretary Kasanof
- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Thursday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, and expressed his gratitude for Washington's continued support to the country's reforms.
Skopje, 5 December 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Thursday with US Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Balkans, Alexander Kasanof, and expressed his gratitude for Washington's continued support to the country's reforms.
Mucunski and Kasanof reaffirmed the interest for continuity of the bilateral political dialogue through regular exchange of visits and experience, activities within the Strategic Dialogue, and close cooperation as NATO allies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
FM Mucunski said the Government is focused on accelerating the EU integration process and implementation of reforms that would produce tangible benefits for citizens, especially in the fields of economy, rule of law and fight against corruption.
In this context, both officials highlighted the interest for promotion of economic cooperation and trade exchange with the United States.
Interlocutors exchanged opinions on current developments in the Western Balkans, with a focus on regional security, economic cooperation, good governance and democracy, with Kasanof reiterating US' strong support to North Macedonia's efforts in the EU integration process and the excellent support within NATO, reads the press release.
