Skopje, 14 April 2025 (MIA) — On the sidelines of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council meeting held in Luxembourg on April 13-14, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Sunday with EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos.

According to an official press release, Mucunski and Kos discussed the country's EU integration process and the mutual commitment to overcoming current challenges as well as the need to speed up accession. 

"The government's commitment to the reform agenda and its full compliance with the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy were highlighted as a strong confirmation of the country's strategic orientation, tracing a credible and valid path toward full EU membership," the release said.

Meeting participants also discussed the Kochani tragedy. The foreign minister thanked the EU for the help in dealing with the aftermath, both through direct assistance from member states and through the rapid activation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

As part of his working visit to Luxembourg at the invitation of EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, Mucunski also attended an informal meeting of foreign ministers of EU member states and of Western Balkan countries. mr/
