FM Mucunski meets Australia's Penny Wong
- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski is paying a working visit to Australia, - the first by a foreign minister of North Macedonia to Australia in 15 years. This visit marks a milestone – 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on Wednesday.

Skopje, 12 February 2025 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski is paying a working visit to Australia, - the first by a foreign minister of North Macedonia to Australia in 15 years.
This visit marks a milestone – 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on Wednesday.
As part of the visit, Minister Mucunski met today with Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong. In the meeting, the ministers reaffirmed the countries’ excellent bilateral ties all the while sharing views on current geopolitical challenges, including issues related to regional stability and global security.
Minister Mucunski thanked for the support of the local and federal authorities in Australia to safeguard Macedonian identity and for Macedonian language studies and of the efforts of the Macedonian diaspora to promote and protect Macedonian culture and tradition.
Minister Wong underlined the importance of the first ministerial meeting in almost two decades and its significance in the context of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
The two ministers praised the key role of the Macedonian diaspora in bilateral relations expressing readiness to intensify political dialogue and strengthen bilateral cooperation with an accent of business ties between the two countries, said the press release.
