FM Mucunski meets ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Japan

Skopje, 16 July 2024 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Tuesday with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Jaćimović and the Ambassador of Japan, Otsuka Kazuya. The two meetings focused on current developments in the country and the region, as well as important foreign policy topics.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, interlocutors at the meetings affirmed the excellent bilateral relations being built and developed in continuity.

“The meeting with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina focused on current developments in both countries, as well as the EU integration processes, with both sides agreeing that the enlargement of the Union would not only be a motive for the countries of the region, but also an essential interest for member states,” the press release said.

Minister Mucunski affirmed the country’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, stressing the readiness to exchange experiences in the field.

In his conversation with the Japanese Ambassador, Minister Mucunski voiced gratitude over the numerous donations and continued assistance provided by Japan for the country’s social development.

At the meeting, according to the press release, Mucunski and Otsuka welcomed the commemoration of the 30th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, with a special emphasis on the economy and business relations. Additionally they voiced readiness to further develop relations within the frameworks of Japan’s Western Balkans Cooperation Initiative
