FM Mucunski holds separate meetings with Greek and Irish ambassadors

Skopje, 13 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski held separate meetings on Wednesday with Greek Ambassador Sophia Philippidou, and Irish Ambassador to North Macedonia, Brendan Ward, based in Bucharest.
Talks with Ambassador Philippidou reaffirmed the mutual interest for fostering good neighborly relations, with emphasis on the importance of maintaining security, stability, and prosperity in the region through its full integration into the European Union.
Interlocutors also stressed the commitments the two ministers expressed at the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York, especially the strengthening of defense, infrastructure, energy, culture, and tourism cooperation, with special accent on economic cooperation.
The meeting with Ambassador Ward highlighted the friendly relations and mutual commitments for intensifying political dialogue, economic and sectorial cooperation. Minister Mucunski expressed gratitude for Ireland's unreserved support for North Macedonia's EU integration, and hope that the country will soon begin accession negotiations for EU membership. ssh/ba/
