Five patients return home after medical treatment abroad

Skopje, 27 March 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, stated in a Facebook post on Wednesday evening that five patients who had been receiving medical treatment abroad after the Kochani nightclub fire have returned to the country.
One patient was treated in Greece, while the other four were in Spain. They were welcomed at Skopje International Airport.
“One of the patients arrived from Athens, while the remaining four were transported from Madrid. They returned in stable condition after receiving exceptional medical care in Spain and Greece, for which we express our sincere gratitude. The crisis HQ at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade remains actively involved, ensuring the ongoing coordination of repatriations of injured patients and support for their families,” the post reads.
As announced, more patients who were sent abroad for treatment following the fire at the Kochani nightclub, which claimed 59 lives and injured around 200 people, are expected to return to the country on Thursday.
On Wednesday, one patient returned from Serbia, and Health Minister Arben Taravari confirmed that the condition of the four patients in critical condition receiving treatment abroad remain very serious but stable.
