Skopje, 20 May 2023 (MIA) - The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) expresses deep regret over the decision of five members to leave the party's Central Presidency, a decision they made at a meeting of the Central Committee on April 1, 2023, reads a press release from the party's headquarters in Mala Rechica.  

The Central Presidency, adds Saturday's press release, has formalized the decision on an upcoming election process in the DUI branches that will be held on July 2.

"The forthcoming elections in the DUI branches, which will be held on the principle of "one member" - one vote, will serve as a platform for collective decision-making and will further strengthen the democratic values ​​that characterize our party. The Democratic Union for Integration continues to work for progress, unity and unwavering commitment to the principles that have guided us throughout our journey so far," reads the press release. 

DUI points out that the Central Presidency has concluded on the basis of reliable analyzes and information that a new dynamic is being created in the region as the only possibility for a swifter path for the country's integration in the European Union. The party highlights the necessity of fulfilling obligations through constitutional amendments which "will enable us to seize this historic moment and ensure a European future for our country".

"We strongly believe that in taking advantage of the current opportunities, we will continue to lead our country, together with the coalition partners, towards European integration to ensure a brighter future, stability, well-being and prosperity for all citizens," says DUI.
