Skopje, 4 August 2025 (MIA) – Protection and Rescue Directorate reports that four wildfires have been registered in the country on Monday. Two remain active, one is under control and one has been completely put out.

In a video statement, Head of the Protection and Rescue Directorate, Stojanche Angelov, said there is an active fire near Bogomila village in Chaska municipality. An air tractor from the Protection and Rescue Directorate has been sent to the field to assist in clearing the terrain and provide logistical support to local firefighters and National Forest teams, who are actively working to extinguish the fire.

The second active wildfire has been reported in the territory of Makedonski Brod municipality, near the village of Greshnica. This is a reactivated fire which had previously been controlled but has reignited. Local firefighting units, assisted by National Forest teams, are intervening at the site.

Angelov noted that the team of the Czech Black Hawk helicopter departed the country today.

“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and its people, heartfelt gratitude was expressed for their engagement. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded by the Protection and Rescue Directorate in recognition of their support,” Angelov said.
