Skopje, 14 July 2025 (MIA) – Over the past year, the Customs Administration has clearly demonstrated its role as a reliable service to the state, citizens and the businesses. This is the primary purpose of any public institution, to function efficiently, transparently and with full accountability, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska said Monday.

In her address at the event titled “One Year of Results,” where the Customs Administration reported on its work over the past year, Dimitrieska-Kochoska emphasized that the figures are impressive and represent clear proof of the institution’s dedicated, professional, and transparent work.

“These results are due to hard work, vision, and teamwork. They prove that when institutions are run by responsible and honest people, success follows. I want to especially point out the strong growth in import duties, which have risen by double digits this year, a trend that began with the new leadership last year. Recent figures show a 16% increase compared to the same period last year, and that’s no accident. It’s the result of consistent application of law and better procedures,” she said.

This positive trend, she added, is proof that when there is a functioning system and people understand their roles and responsibilities, results will follow.

“I expect and believe that this momentum will continue, and that the Customs Administration will remain a pillar of stability and a supporter of fiscal discipline in the country,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska added,

Before her remarks, Customs Administration Director Boban Nikolovski presented the institution’s results, followed by an address from Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.
