Filipche urges Mickoski to stop using spins and start managing real problems

Skopje, 8 October 2025 (MIA) - The Government should either lead the country or leave, said SDSM leader Venko Filipche on Wednesday, while urging Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski to stop using spins and start managing real problems in the country.

"The PM should stop using spins. There are serious problems and issues that must be addressed. When a person has nothing to say, when he has nothing to show for, then he drifts to telling lies," said Filipche.

He said the country is facing economic stagnation and no growth, something that international institutions have confirmed.

"There is no growth, the average wage has dropped, prices of basic food products have surged, businesses are closing and people are left without jobs, foreign investments have diminished. Instead of managing these problems, the PM is making up affairs and scandals," said Filipche.

At a campaign rally in Gostivar late on Tuesday, Mickoski called on Filipche to tell the public what he thought of his "mentor and guru" Zoran Zaev.

"Because he is too embarrassed to say it, and because he is a hypocrite who says one thing in public while pretending and making plans with him, I call on Filipche to say publicly what he thinks about his mentor and guru, whether he was a good prime minister and whether he did Macedonia any good. I do not expect him to give the answer we all know well. There is no greater force than people who believe, people who know what they want and who know the future is in their hands. Our fight is not just for one municipality. It is not just for one city. Our fight is for every family, for every child who wants a better school, for every young person who wants a job here at home, in Macedonia," said Mickoski.
