Skopje, 15 October 2024 (MIA) — Let the prime minister tell us the plan for the country's European integration and which European countries have backed it; if that plan strengthens our negotiating positions, we will support it, but the question is how long we will wait, SDSM leader Venko Filipche said in a TV appearance Tuesday evening.

"If there is any mechanism to improve our negotiation positions, we are here to support it, but at the moment we are at a standstill. We are not following the path all EU member states agreed on through the negotiating framework," Filipche said.

"Now that we have been separated from Albania," he continued, "the government should say what the plan is or if they even have a plan.

"The prime minister said we had the support of some countries for improving our negotiating positions through some sort of delayed action on the constitutional amendments, but Minister [for European Affairs Orhan] Murtezani has denied this.

"This is why we have initiated a parliamentary session. Parliament is where these things are discussed and decisions made," Filipche told Sitel TV. mr/
