Filipche in Demir Hisar: None of the reforms they promised is here

Skopje, 29 September 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche launched the campaign for the local elections at a rally in Demir Hisar on Monday, saying VMRO-DPMNE has not made any changes in the citizens' interest over the past four years.

"We are all seeing that after a year-and-a-half in power and four years running the municipalities, VMRO-DPMNE is incapable of bringing change and work in the citizens' interest. All they care for is the comfort for themselves and their members. Is this the proud Macedonia they promised us?", asked Filipche.

He said that VMRO-DPMNE had promised justice but ushered injustice, noting the dysfunctional institutions, low wages, price hikes, a stalled economy and lack of judicial reforms.

"They promised reforms but did not start any. They won on fake patriotism and empty programmes," added Filipche.

According to him, Demir Hisar has seen no rehabilitated local roads, no waste treatment systems, tobacco growers are facing low buyout prices, young people are leaving the municipality, the healthcare is collapsing.

"Four years of local authorities led by VMRO-DPMNE and not one project implemented," said Filipche.

SDSM's campaign for the local elections is taking place under the slogan "Fighting for our home".
