Strumica, 11 September 2024 (MIA) - A serious law like this is being adopted in a short-track procedure in order to ensure there is not enough time for discussion or analysis by experts and the expert public, SDSM leader Venko Filipche said Wednesday about the law related to the loan from Hungary which has been submitted to Parliament in a fast-track procedure.

“The Government approved the law on September 3, and evidently, they have been hiding it from the public for more than a week. The question is why they are trying to smuggle the law through Parliament in a fast-track procedure,” Filipche said.

According to the opposition leader, corruption in the law is evident in the fact that the company responsible for the provisions will be appointed by the Hungarian bank, which will lend the money.

“Whenever we’ve had an international house, it was an established, recognized international house, and it secured the country to protect it. Now someone else will tell us which lawyers and which company will take those provisions. Unfortunately, I think this is one big corruption project that has been legalized, generations and generations will have to pay the interest in the future. We will carefully monitor who the companies will be and who will be responsible for the provisions so that we present to the public everything we uncover,” Filipche said.
